A down-on-her-luck, middle-aged school teacher tries to find love in Israel by pretending to be a famous actress.  When she runs into a wannabe script-writer soldier with many tall tales to tell, their lives intertwine and change forever.

Production History

After Jerusalem premiered December of 2011. The hit Solo Collective production garnered outstanding reviews and played to sold-out houses. It was published in 2012. 

The play ran at Lunchbox Theatre in September 2016 and in April 2019 at Winnipeg Jewish Theatre. 

Awards

  • Nominated for two Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards, including Outstanding Original Script (Aaron Bushkowsky) and Outstanding Performance/Actress (Deborah Williams)

  • Nominated for the prestigious Carol Bolt Award (2012), a national playwriting competition sponsored by the Playwrights Guild of Canada, PACT (the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres), and Playwrights Canada Press
