Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.  

Our arts work at Marquis Literary stretches coast to coast and beyond, and so we also want to acknowledge that we do so on many traditional lands – from those of the people known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations to the Mi’kmaq people, and those people documented and undocumented in the lands between.

We work in collaboration and friendship with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit artists and storytellers from across Canada (and beyond) to share stories and history, and to promote cultural learning and understanding.
