Bio

Holly Lewis is a playwright, dramaturg and actor.

Her play, The Fiancée, “a wig-swapping, door-slamming, cake-facing farce”, premiered at the Citadel Theatre, after being shortlisted for the Sharon Pollock Alberta Playwrighting Award and winning the Alberta Playwright Competition Noviciate award. It has since been programmed at Persephone Theatre and Chemainus Theatre.

Previous plays include co-writing the two international collaborations, Ubuntu: The Cape Town Project (Theatrefront/Tarragon/Citadel/Neptune/Western Canadian tour) and Return: The Sarajevo Project (Theatrefront/Sarajevo Festival/Tarragon, Dora Award nomination). She has worked with artists across the country as a dramaturg and playwrighting facilitator.

Holly is currently developing a murder mystery comedy and a modern adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters.
